Privacy Policy

The Rivet Index is a free, independent, public data registry for robots. We catalog verified specifications, pricing, and sourcing information for commercially available and publicly documented robots. We are a reference resource. We are not a manufacturer, reseller, broker, or distributor of robots, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any robot manufacturer or company listed in the index. We do not sell robots. Every figure we publish is sourced and cited to a third party; we are the record, not the seller.

Email addresses (only if you provide one). If you voluntarily subscribe to our email updates using a signup form on the site, we collect your email address. This is the only piece of personal information we ever ask you for, and providing it is entirely optional. An email is never required to use the site.

Contact information (only if you contact us). If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, which we use solely to respond to you.

Basic usage analytics. We use privacy-preserving analytics provided by Vercel (our hosting provider) to understand aggregate, anonymized usage of the site, such as which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns. This data is aggregated and does not identify you individually. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

We do not collect names, physical addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or any documents from you. We do not ask you to upload anything.

We use the limited information we collect only to:

• send you the email updates you subscribed to, if you subscribed;
• respond to you if you contact us; and
• understand, in aggregate and anonymized form, how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not, and will not:

• sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone;
• use your information for advertising or to build an individual profile of you; or
• track you across other websites.

Our email updates, if you choose to subscribe, are delivered through Beehiiv, Inc., a third-party email service. When you subscribe, your email address is transmitted to and stored by Beehiiv. As part of delivering email, Beehiiv may collect metadata such as your IP address, browser type, approximate geographic location, and which links you click within our emails, for delivery, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes. Beehiiv's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy, available at beehiiv.com/privacy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send. To request deletion of your data directly from Beehiiv, you may contact Beehiiv at privacy@beehiiv.com.

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the site. Each handles data under its own privacy policy: Vercel, for website hosting and anonymized analytics (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy); and Beehiiv, for email update delivery, only if you subscribe (beehiiv.com/privacy). We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any other third parties.

We use only the essential cookies necessary for the site and our hosting/analytics provider to function. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking cookies.

Email addresses are retained by Beehiiv until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Contact emails are retained only as long as necessary to address your inquiry, then deleted. Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained in non-identifying form.

All traffic between your browser and our site is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS). While we take reasonable measures to protect information, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to object to certain processing.

You can unsubscribe from email updates at any time via the link in any email. You can opt out of our anonymized analytics by using standard browser privacy controls or "Do Not Track" settings. To exercise any other right, contact us at rlcalculations@gmail.com, and we will respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Maryland residents: As a Maryland-based business, we comply with the Maryland Personal Information Protection Act and applicable Maryland data-protection requirements.

The Rivet Index is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Rivet Index is an independent reference. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any robot manufacturer, brand, or company referenced in the index. All manufacturer names, product names, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and reference purposes only.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
