At approximately 30 kg it is deliberately light for household safety, built around a proprietary compliant Tendon Drive actuation system, and runs the Redwood vision-language-action model on NVIDIA Jetson Thor compute. It is among the first humanoids sold for private home use, on preorder at $20,000 outright or $499 per month, with shipping expected in Q3 to Q4 2026 in the United States and Canada first. 1X is backed by the OpenAI Startup Fund and NVIDIA.
