Overview

The Walker S2 is UBTech Robotics' industrial humanoid, in mass production since around November 2025. Its defining feature is the world's first autonomous hot-swappable battery system for a humanoid: the robot swaps its own dual 48V packs in roughly three minutes, enabling continuous around-the-clock operation. At approximately 176 cm and 73 kg with 52 degrees of freedom, up from the prior Walker S's 41, it carries 4th-generation 11-DoF dexterous hands, force and tactile sensing, and UBTech's Co-Agent and BrainNet 2.0 dual-loop AI with swarm coordination. The S2 is deployed on NIO and BYD automotive assembly lines, the Walker line is reported to have taken more than 800 million yuan in orders, and Airbus trials have been reported.

Strengths

  • World's first autonomous hot-swappable battery for a humanoid, enabling 24/7 operation.
  • Deployed on NIO and BYD automotive assembly lines.
  • 52 degrees of freedom with 4th-generation 11-DoF dexterous hands.
  • Waist servo enabling +/-162 degree rotation.
  • Swarm coordination through the Co-Agent and BrainNet 2.0 dual-loop system.
  • Reported order book above 800 million yuan for the Walker S line.

Considerations

  • An industrial platform, not a consumer product.[1]
  • No official price exists; the approximately $160,000 figure is an industry estimate.[2]
  • One outlier source frames the platform as a lighter household variant, which conflicts with the strongly corroborated industrial positioning; this record treats it as industrial.[3]
